PV Sindhu wins bronze medal

Shutller PV Sindhu defeated China’s He Bing Jiao in the bronze medal match of the ongoing Tokyo Olympics and became the first Indian woman to win two Olympic medals on Sunday.

She defeated Bing Jiao 21-13 and 21-15 to win her second consecutive Olympic medal.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to twitter to congratulate her, saying “She is India’s pride and one of our most outstanding Olympians”.

Several other Indian leaders extended their wishes on a second medal win for India including President Ram Nath Kovind and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi.
