Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award now as Major Dhyan Chand Ratna Award

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced today that the highest sporting honour of India, the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award has been renamed Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award.

The name of Khel Ratna Award is being renamed after the ultimate hockey hero and legend, Dhyan Chand. The PM Modi said he had been getting a lot of requests to change the name of the award.
