Mercedes A45 S AMG
Mercedes-AMG A45 S, with 421 horsepower and all-wheel drive, can go from zero to sixty miles per hour in under 3.9 seconds. Unlike the A35, the A45 S features Mercedes-correct
AMG’s vertical-stripe grille, as well as powerful front air intakes and a noticeable splitter from the range-topping GT. There’s little to wonder why it’s our car of the month this December. It’s a power packed hatchback.
Flared sills and 19-inch alloys can be found on the sides, while a roof spoiler, a similarly stunning rear bumper, and fake quad exhausts can be found on the back. A snarling turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol engine produces all that power, and all A 45s come with a snappy dual-clutch eight-speed automatic gearbox and a super-grippy all-wheel drive system as standard.
The exhaust tips of the A 45 S aren’t quite as loud as those of its less powerful predecessor. Despite the slightly muffled roar, the new Mercedes-AMG A 45 S is a genuine blast to drive.
Inside, there’s plenty of room for a pair of adults in the front, as well as super-supportive front sports seats and a lot of adjustability for the driver’s seat and steering wheel. There’s enough room in the back for another couple of adults, though it’ll be difficult to fit three across the back seats in comfort for lengthy travels.
With a boot capacity of 370 litres, the A45 is more than capable of transporting a pair of large suitcases as well as some soft luggage. This means that the A 45 S is a practical hatchback
and does the job well. It is fast, smooth, comfortable and spacious all at once.
The interior of the A45 is stunningly elegant. Its infotainment system has a Times Square billboard-style information display behind the steering wheel. This comprises of two touch-
sensitive screens, one for the driver’s digital dials with distinctive AMG design and the other for the sat-nav and media information.
