Car of the month - Kia EV6

|THE DEN|

The 2022 Kia EV6 is the brand's first exclusively electric vehicle, and the eye-catching crossover is constructed on the same Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) that will support numerous further Kia EVs. The EV6 is an example of the expanding options and capabilities of the most recent electric vehicles. Its estimated range is up to 310 miles, and thanks to its 800-volt architecture, quick charging rates are possible.

A coupe-like roofline, flush-fitting door handles, and 19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels stand out on the side profile. The Kia EV6 has wrap-around LED taillights and an LED light bar that runs the length of the boot lid to fit the vehicle's overall aggressive appearance.

Once inside, you'll see a cottage that is appropriately digital for the age of electricity. A curving unit with two 12.3-inch screens is placed in front of the driver. When combined with the raised centre console, this arrangement envelops the driver. In order to exude a sporting vibe, Kia has moved away from the lounge- style openness of other EVs, and it succeeds. There is still room under the centre console for accessories and handbags because the floor is still flat.

The EV6 has many convenient features, like ventilated front seats, 64-color ambient lighting, wireless charging, a rotary dial with shift-by-wire technology, an electric sunroof, an automatic parking brake, and more. The two-tone, two-spoke steering wheel, the large start button on the central console, and the tastefully placed gold accents all throughout the cockpit are further noteworthy features.

A 77.4kWh battery pack powers the Kia EV6. The RWD version's 223 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque enable it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds. 320.5 horsepower and 605 nm of torque are produced by the AWD model. This model's top specifications enable it to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in about 5.2 seconds. An automatic transmission is available for both variations. To accommodate different driving requirements, the EV6 has three drive modes: Eco, Normal, and Sport.

The steering wheel paddles allow you to select from four different levels of regeneration. In the most extreme "i-pedal" mode, the EV6 will slow to a complete stop when you take off the gas. Another interesting fact about the EV6 can go from 10 to 80 per cent charge in just 18 minutes.
