Delhi Court convicts father for rape of minor daughter after DNA matches foetus

New Delhi : Principal District and Sessions Judge Dharmesh Sharma passed a guilty verdict after DNA check of the foetus of the minor daughter where it matched all 15 markers.

A peculiar case where the only smoking gun to the prosecution was the DNA test, where the prosecution witnesses, the mother and the daughter recanted on the stand.

The defence argues on the ethical and scientific grounds as general samples of the population were not taken into account and tested but prosecution brought medical expert consultants who ensured the court of the authenticity of the results.

The man has been declared guilty under POSCO and will be sentenced in October.
