Fashion trends in the 80s

|THE DEN|

The 1980s put a lot of focus on huge, poofy hair, cheap clothing, and

stylish accessories. The appearance of clothing tends to be particularly brilliant and bright.

The hippie movement of earlier decades and the materialistic values of the present decade were both targets of the first punk movement. Compared to the second half of the decade, which was when the iconic 1980s colour scheme had gained prominence, the first half of the decade was rather subdued.

High-waisted mom jeans, leg warmers, torn denim, spandex, acid wash jeans, statement shoulder business suits (often with skirts), punk leather items, and leotards were among the sexiest trends for women.

Knee-length dresses that were flowy and free, high-waisted loose pants, embroidered jeans, leather pants, and designer jeans were all popular, albeit not as extensively worn as in the 1970s.

The majority of women's pants worn in the 1980s featured lengthy

inseams, and by 1982 straight-leg pants had replaced the flared jeans of the 1970s as the preferred style. The decade was all about big boots and bags with neon and colourful dresses to give an ode to the hippie era.
