In an official announcement, Thiruvananthapuram International Airport in Kerala declared that it would be closed for five hours on Tuesday in anticipation of the Alpassi Arattu procession of Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple. The airport will not have any operating domestic or international flights between 4 pm and 9 pm, the statement continued.

The statement read, "Flight services shall remain suspended from 1600 to 2100 hours on November 1, 2022, to enable and facilitate the smooth continuation of a centuries-old ritual by Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple for the Alpassi Arattu procession through the runway of the Thiruvananthapuram International airport.

It was also mentioned that both local and international services had been rescheduled for this time period, and the amended schedules could be obtained from the relevant airlines.
