Gurugram resident accepts WFH offer and gets scammed of Rs 11 lakh

A resident of Gurugram was defrauded of over 11 lakh in yet another case of cyber fraud under the guise of working from home. Puja Verma, a resident of Sector 85, claimed in her police complaint that she received a WhatsApp message offering her the chance to make money through part-time WFH employment.

According to the police, the victim, who is from Agra, claimed the sender promised her she would be given chores concerning YouTube channel subscriptions. Verma was requested to subscribe to several channels and to join a Telegram channel. When urged to invest $5,000, the woman did so and put the money in a bank account that had been provided for her. She was certain it wasn't a fraud after getting back 6,440 of her money. When she invested 10,000, the caller identified herself as Kangana and promised her she would receive profits if she invested one lakh. The woman asserted that she was conned out of 11.45 lakh.
