Luxury car of the month - JULY

The brand's largest people mover in 2021, the BMW X7 boasts remarkable levels of performance as well as a clearly upmarket air. Three superb turbocharged engine choices can be found under the three-row SUV's slightly oversized kidney grille.

The BMW X7 is simply enormous, at 5.1 metres long, 2 metres wide, and 1.8 metres height. It's also not an X5 extended. The X7 has a more imposing appearance due to its higher bonnet

line and noticeably longer rear overhang. The widest grille we've yet seen on a BMW SUV is what can cause disagreement. However, features like the thin tail lamps and headlights that

blend into the grille have a wider appeal.

On the inside, everything is extremely modern BMW, and the dashboard is really shared with the most recent X5. Not that it matters because the multilayer dashboard is appropriate for

the top-of-the-line BMW SUV, and the general atmosphere within the interior is on par with that of the 7-series. Which you’d expect from this car considering its price point of over

1.2 Cr ex-showroom for the base model.

The crucial middle row does exceptionally well in terms of comfort. The individual captain's chairs on variants with six seats have plush cushions, and powered controls for moving

forward and backward make it incredibly simple to reach the perfect reclining position. It's difficult to get to the third row, and the back seats are a little low.

With the SUV, BMW provides two engine choices. The 2,993cc, inline, six-cylinder, twin-turbocharged diesel engine, which can produce 261bhp and 620Nm, is the engine that comes first. Second, the top-of-the-line M Sport receives a 2,998cc, six-cylinder, bi-turbo petrol engine with 335bhp and 450Nm of torque. A Steptronic Sport eight-speed automatic transmission is mated to both of them.

With its air suspension, the X7 travels smoothly, feeling plush in Comfort and tight in Sport and Sport Plus. Although the X7 is not as nimble or agile as a smaller SUV, it is nonetheless glad

to change lanes. The X7's size can be overpowering in a city, but the numerous cameras and auto park function are very useful. This is what we consider to be the ideal luxury SUV for a

family.
