Tarun Tahiliani is a well-known fashion designer in India. With his wife Sailaja 'Sal' Tahiliani, he co-founded Ensemble, India’s first multi-designer boutique in 1987, followed by Tahiliani Design studio in 1990.

He is most renowned for his ability to combine Indian workmanship and textile tradition with fitted silhouettes and is based in Delhi. His unique style is a mix of traditional and modern elements. He became well-known for his bridal apparel throughout time. As one of India's first international fashion designers, Tarun Tahiliani has built a reputation for himself.

Tahiliani noticed a need in the Indian market for upmarket apparel after graduating from Wharton Business School with a degree in business management. As a result, the designer opened Ensemble, the country's first multi-brand store.

Soon after, the designer enrolled in the Fashion Institute of Technology to hone his technical design talents, and in 1994, he founded his label. Tahiliani is now known as the "Karl Lagerfeld of India." The Tarun Tahiliani collection has reimagined elegance while keeping the fashion sensibilities of today's Indian woman in mind. Tarun Tahiliani, the master of haute-couture, has imagined and redefined the aesthetic of the modern Indian bride with each meticulously made stitch on a variety of fabrics.

The designer has presented runway shows all over the world and is a founding member of the Fashion Design Council of India, the country's official fashion fraternity's regulating body. His outfits are unique in their style and designs.

Among the celebrities who wear Tarun Tahiliani frequently are Shilpa Shetty, Priyanka Alva (Vivek Oberoi's wife), Mehr Rampal and Ileana D'Cruz. Other celebrities also wear Tarun Tahiliani outfits for various events and shoots. For example, Kareena Kapoor wore a red bridal Tarun Tahiliani outfit for the shoot of her Gitanjali Jeweller commercial.

Kingfisher calendar girl Lisa Haydon was one of the patent models for displaying Tarun Tahiliani's outfits. Deepika was the show stopper for Tarun Tahiliani one of his most avant-garde collections. Hina Khan recently walked the red carpet in Tarun Tahiliani couture for the UK Asian Film festival.
