Make upto INR 50,000 from international flights

|The Den|

Was your flight cancelled fewer than 14 days prior to the original departure date? You are likely eligible for up to INR 50,000 in flight compensation.

The European Parliament and the European Commission established Regulation (EC) No. 261/2004 in 2004. The document, later known as EU261 or the Flight Compensation Regulation, guarantees passengers in the European Union the right to compensation and a refund in the event of a canceled or delayed flight.

After Brexit, the Regulation was adopted into British law as ‘The Air Passenger Rights and Air Travel Organisers’ Licensing (Amendment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019’. This document ensures that British citizens have the same air passenger rights as they did when the UK was a member of the EU.

So basically, if you are flying to or from the UK/EU with a UK/EU airline and your flight got canceled fewer than 14 days before departure then you can claim compensation. How much depends on the type of flight, whether you accept a refund or have the airline arrange a return trip, and on how much later your new departure and arrival times are than your original plans.

Moreover, even if you took an alternate flight offered by the airline, you may still be able to claim up to INR 50,000 in canceled flight compensation. Plus, if you did not take an alternative flight by the airline, you might also claim a full monetary refund. You have up to 6 years to seek your compensation and refund.
