Tata's best-selling Nexon SUV could soon have a factory-installed CNG kit with a 1.2L turbo-petrol engine. It will make the Tata Nexon the country's first car with a turbo-petrol CNG powertrain. The CNG kit could come with either a 6-speed manual or an AMT transmission. It's worth noting that the firm has yet to release the official launch details for the future Tata CNG cars. However, these models are slated to arrive in 2023.
Tata Motors recently launched the Tiago hatchback and Tigor compact sedan in India, both powered by i-CNG. The former is priced between Rs 6.09 lakh and Rs 7.52 lakh, while the latter is priced between Rs 7.69 lakh and Rs 8.29 lakh. The CNG models are Rs 90,000 more expensive than their Internal Combustion counterparts. All of the prices shown are ex-showroom.
