Party rejects Sharad Pawar's resignation as party chief

According to senior NCP member Praful Patel, following the party's core committee meeting to elect its new leader, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on Friday passed a resolution rejecting Sharad Pawar's resignation as party president and has demanded that he continue to lead the organisation that he created.

Days after Sharad Pawar dropped the bombshell that he would resign from the position, the decision was made. Soon after senior NCP Praful Patel announced the committee's decision at a news conference, NCP party members began to celebrate.
