Supreme Court sends notice to CBI and ED in relation to Manish Sisodia's bail plea

On Friday, the Supreme Court gave notice to the Central Bureau of Investigation and Enforcement Directorate in response to separate bail requests made by the former deputy chief minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia, in the context of the alleged violations of the liquor policy. The interim request for urgent release owing to his wife Seema Sisodia's sickness was accepted by the court for consideration on July 28.

A panel led by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud decided on Monday to list the Sisodia plea for hearing on July 14. Senior attorney Abhishek Manu Singhvi, who is representing Sisodia, stated that his wife was ill and requested an immediate listing.

In connection with suspected anomalies in the Delhi excise policy case, Sisodia had petitioned the Supreme Court for bail in CBI and ED proceedings. He has appealed the Delhi High Court's decision to deny his request for bail.
