The Insatiable Gourmand - Interview with the Rising Star

|THE DEN|

Hello, I am Mukul Verma a.k.a. The Insatiable Gourmand. I am a foodie by passion and love exploring new dishes and cuisines. I am a businessman by profession and own a restaurant “Imly courtyard'' at Ashok Vhar as well.

Que. What has been the most interesting item of food you've ever tasted?

  • Recently, I went to McLeodganj and there I tasted a Bibimbap for the first time in my life. It was unlike any dish I had ever tasted before and it was the most unique experience I have had so far. It wasn’t too spicy but had a lot of flavors. It’s a must try for people who like to experiment with their food.

Que. What is your take on organic food , is it a big deal for you ?

  • As a concept, organic food is the ideal state of food and it will be the future of any dining experience. Organic food isn’t only ideal but it also tastes different then store-bought food. It’s unique and tastes much much much better. But since it’s expensive, it's not readily available. But in a few years, everyone will go the organic way.

Que. What made you a foodie?

  • The experiences I’ve had for the past many years. I have travelled all around the world, and since I was a vegetarian back then, I didn’t have many options to eat. So, I had to find places that served vegetarian food. And that helped me find out that food is awesome, even if it’s just vegetarian. Trying new dishes at different places brought out the foodie in me.

Que. What are those three things you got to use most in your posts?

  • The 3 things I use most in my posts are:

1. Hashtags

2. Storyline around my food experience

3. Photo/Video Editing

Que.Which is your favourite cuisine?

  • I love Italian cuisine specifically. My favorite is a pizza, nothing fancy. I also love spicy pasta and basic lasagna. A good lasagna is hard to find, but when I get around it, I always have it.

Que. Which city gave you the best experience so far?

  • My best food experience has been in my hometown, Delhi. Delhi has the best food in this whole country. Even the basic samosa and tea taste different and amazing. I guess, people in Delhi know how to make great food. And that’s why Delhi has given me the best food experience.

Que.Which place is at the top of your bucket list?

  • My favorite and go-to place is Chili’s. I just love everything on their menu, be it their nachos or burgers. Everything they make is fresh and on order. They have great mocktails and cocktails as well. It’s the best place to chill at and have amazing food. I will always recommend it to anyone who wants amazing food. (P.S.- My restaurant isn’t Chili’s, I just love going there and eating.)
