Mehul Choksi

On May 23, Mehul Choksi was visiting his friend Barbara Jarabica’s apartment from where he was kidnapped.

He was locked in the hold of a St. Lucia registered yacht, the Calliope of Arne.

The yacht docked in Dominica where the police were waiting to arrest him.

Passenger manifests of the yacht show Gurjit Bhandal, a resident of Birmingham in the United Kingdom, and Gurmit Singh, an Indian national.

Theory #1

Mehul Choksi was kidnapped by Gurjit Bhandal and Gurmit Singh, who work for the Indian government and intended to forcefully take Mehul Choksi back to India but were caught by Dominican police instead. It is supported by the fact that the Antiguan Prime Minister asked the Dominican government to send him back to India, which would indicate of his involvement in the kidnapping.

Theory #2

Mehul Choksi was kidnapped by Gurjit Bhandal and Gurmit Singh, who work for the Indian government and intended to forcefully take Mehul Choksi back to India but Mehul, with all his wealth cut a deal with his kidnappers and got a temporary relief in Dominica where he and his lawyers are fighting a case for his release.

Theory #3

Mehul Choksi was kidnapped by Gurjit Bhandal and Gurmit Singh, who work for the Indian government and intended to forcefully take Mehul Choksi back to India, but Mehul who is a wealthy ‘Indian’ in the islands is bound to have connections and the Dominican police intervened on his behalf, saving him from being extradited to India.
