|THE DEN|

Rule for the Ultra-rich : Always go for the top end

Opinion of a car lover, with 50 crores a month, and ten cars to buy, which cars will they buy, will they be able to buy them all ? The prices will be ex-showroom assuming discount achieved in lieu of taxation and models allowed to be only top end. It is for the ultra rich, and the rule always is to go for the top end. Welcome to the concept episode of Top 10 for 50.

April’s Choice -Ruchika Rawan

This month the cars were chosen by Ruchika Rawan, the editor of the Episode Magazines and a budding journalist. She loves cars with luxury features and notices the tiniest details in cars. This is the list of badass cars that she likes and would buy if she had 50 crores.

Bentley Flying Spur

50,00,00,000 - 03,41,00,000 =46,59,00,000

A Bentley is a must in a 50 crore garage.

The Bentley Flying Spur features a lively chassis that will thrill the driver, but it was built from the ground up to pamper its passengers. The Bentley flying spur may cost Rs3.20-3.40 crore ex-showroom, but it comes with a lot of advantages, including the ability to turn attention wherever it travels.

Whether in the front or rear, there's plenty of room for folks to spread out and enjoy the luxurious surroundings. Bentley's interior designers managed to keep the brand's prim and proper image while still incorporating cutting-edge technology. A remote touchscreen controller located on the back of the centre console allows rear-seat passengers to change numerous elements without having to ask the driver for assistance.

All Flying Spurs come standard with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, all-wheel drive, and a strong twin- turbocharged engine. The base engine is a 500-horsepower V-8, but we recommend the 635-horsepower W-12 engine.

With 12 cylinders under the hood, the Flying Spur never lacks power. It can even flash its taillights at numerous top-tier sports cars in a drag race. It takes about 3.5 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometres per hour. The V-8 vehicle gets to 100 mph in 3.9 seconds, but the W-12 comes out to be significantly more enjoyable to drive.

Rolls Royce Ghost

46,59,00,000 - 07,95,00,000 =38,64,00,000

This Rolls is special, it’s high-class inside out.

The ownership of Rolls-Royce is a bold statement. It implies that you are not just wealthy, but also that you are uncompromising. The Ghost sedan upholds that uncompromising luxury concept while also throwing in a few surprises.

It shares its base with the premium Phantom sedan and the Cullinan SUV, allowing it to deliver unrivalled ride quality on par with the brand's best. A V-12 engine that is smooth and silent generates almost infinite power (571PS/850Nm) paired with a ZF 8-speed transmission.

Climbing onboard the Ghost is an experience filled in drama and occasion. The door handles are made of hefty-looking stainless steel that feels cool to the touch, and the doors themselves are heavy to pull open.

The inside of the Ghost, like that of any Rolls-Royce, is luxurious, with excellent materials used on every surface, knob, switch, and lever. Thick carpet, finely grained leather, real wood and metal accents, and even a headliner with tiny embedded LEDs to simulate a starlit sky are all available. When the Ghost is turned on, an illuminated dashboard inlay shines, adding to the starry-night feel.

Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG

38,64,00,000 - 02,45,00,000 =36,19,00,000

The personification of a mafia SUV.

The Mercedes-AMG G63 is all about making things look easy, whether it's tearing down the highway at triple-digit speeds or crawling over boulders at single-digit speeds. It will also make your valet experience much easier, as those people will almost certainly park your truck in the front.

The Mercedes-AMG G63 is powered by a 4.0-liter twin- turbocharged V-8 engine that produces 577 horsepower and 850 Nm of torque. All of that power is sent to the all-wheel- drive system via a nine-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters located on the steering wheel (4Matic) Three locking differentials and low-range gears are standard.

If you've ever sat in an older G-class, the cabin will feel familiar, but it's now a totally modern environment, with a 12.0-inch digital instrument panel, high-quality materials, and amenities like cupholders and a surround-view camera system.

With available Nappa leather surfaces, actual metal accents, and superb attention to detail, the G63's interior is simply stunning. There's plenty of headroom, even if shoulder room is tight, and the G63 comes standard with heated front and back seats, multicolor ambient lighting, a sunroof, and other features.

Range Rover Sport

36,19,00,000 - 2,19,00,000 =34,00,00,000

A family car that’s too huge for the road.

The Land Rover Range Rover Sport is essentially a more athletic version of the brand's flagship SUV Range Rover, as its name implies. The chassis, powertrain, and interior are all the same in both cars. They're also around the same size and have all-wheel drive as standard. The Range Rover Sport, on the other hand, is a little more nimble, making it more fun to drive, and it comes with a small third-row seat, which isn't available in the ordinary Range Rover.

The Range Rover Sport boasts all of the hallmarks of a premium SUV, including an attractive appearance and obvious comfort and refinement. As a result, it's the ideal vehicle to be our April car of the month. It is capable as well as comfortable. It can not only deal with thick muck, but it also wants to be a part of family life. Long journeys won't be an issue thanks to the luxurious interior, which offers plenty of utilitarian elements.

The engine options, which range from a 2.0-litre turbo petrol to a 5.0-litre supercharged V8, are extensive. The power of a basic car's diesel engine ranges from 255 to 335 bhp, while the petrol engine can reach 350 bhp. The SVR 5.0-liter V8 has been tuned for 570 horsepower. While the car has an engine option for everyone, none of them feel weak or unresponsive.

The starting price of this behemoth SUV is 91 lakhs ex- showroom and goes upto 2.19 Cr ex-showroom for the top-of- the-line SVR variant. For that price you do get some kick in the pants feel from this SUV. The majority of Range Rover Sport models have excellent ride comfort, with high-speed suppleness being a particular strength. As a result, this is an excellent vehicle for long journeys.

The driver's seat, while not quite as high as in a full-size Range Rover, is nevertheless a good climb up and provides a good perspective of the road ahead. You may upgrade to a higher trim to have an all-round camera system with front, back, and bird's eye views, as well as a self-parking system that will park the car for you.

The interior of the Range Rover Sport is finished to a very high quality. The build quality is excellent, with soft surfaces and controls that appear to be high-end. A substantial 792 L of cargo space is available behind the second row of the Range Rover Sport. Leather upholstery is standard, and you can add more leather to the dashboard's centre section and the tops of the doors for an even more opulent, cocooning feel.

Aston Martin Vantage

34,00,00,000 - 02,95,00,000 =31,05,00,000

The Vantage has too much style to be on the road. This car can easily double up as a showpiece.

The Aston Martin Vantage 2021 isn't just a beautiful sports car; it's a work of art. The Aston Martin's stunning exterior can be seen on both a hard-bodied coupe and a recently released soft-top convertible.

A Mercedes-AMG twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 engine sits behind the Vantage's clamshell hood. This engine produces 503 horsepower and 685Nm of torque, which is transmitted to the rear wheels via a seven-speed manual transmission or an eight- speed automatic transmission. Choosing the manual transmission gives a more direct connection with the powertrain while also saving 209 pounds in terms of performance.

Inside, the exterior drama continues with luxury materials and a plethora of bespoke possibilities. The Vantage is simple to overspend on because Aston Martin offers a full-leather interior, heated and ventilated seats, a carbon-fiber steering wheel, embroidered headrests, and a variety of interior trim options, among other things.

Although the cockpit is only big enough for two people, it's lined with leather and imitation suede. Sport seats with memory settings and power adjustments are also included. This car is something special and you’d want it to be the centre of attraction in your garage.

Jaguar F-Type

31,05,00,000 - 02,61,00,000 =28,44,00,000

A sports car with tons of heritage and amazing dynamics.

The Jaguar F-type is undoubtedly one of the most unappreciated sports vehicles, despite its tricky design and high-performance capabilities. While the two-threatening seater's new look may polarise some, its proportions are unquestionably beautiful.

The F-Type comes with two drivetrains: a 2.0-litre four- cylinder turbocharged petrol with 297bhp/400Nm and a 5.0- litre V8 supercharged petrol with 444bhp/580Nm and 567bhp/ 700Nm in two tunes. The R models are powered by a more powerful V8, which is only available with an AWD powertrain. All engines are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission made by ZF.

The interior of the 2021 Jaguar F-type remains a driver- centric design with a combination of racy and opulent materials. Stitched surfaces, faux-suede embellishments, and chrome trim are just a few examples. Interior features on more expensive models will include aluminium parts, embossing, and additional faux-suede covers.

There are two main styles of seating available, both of which can be modified with heated and cooled surfaces. The great driving position of the F-type is carried over, and the driver will now be confronted with a massive 12.3-inch completely digital gauge cluster. Unfortunately, the notoriously cramped cabin of the coupe and convertible, as well as the convertible's humorously small trunk, will remain. However, we doubt that if you spent 50 crores on cars, you would want every car to be practical.

Rolls Royce Phantom

28,44,00,000 - 10,48,00,000 =17,96,00,000

Because someone who spends 50 crores on cars deserves at least 2 Rolls’.

The Rolls-Royce Phantom is too flamboyant for some luxury automobile purchasers, and it's simply too enormous for others – but most simply can't afford one. If you can get past those roadblocks, you'll be in for a treat, because no other car on the earth compares to the luxury, supreme riding comfort, and quiet refinement of this extraordinary Rolls-Royce flagship.

It's also a lot of fun to drive, thanks to the smooth performance of a large V12 engine and a chassis that encourages spirited driving. The Phantom's tech-laden spec sheet makes full use of the BMW Group's and its suppliers' innovation and competence, and the spec sheet leaves little to be desired in terms of active safety features and infotainment systems. The rest is up to you, with a plethora of colour, trim, and option options to choose from. Of course, everything comes at a cost.

A silky 563-hp twin-turbo V-12 combined with an eight-speed automatic and rear-wheel drive delivers massive power. Although the 5.1-second zero-to-60-mph time stated by Rolls- Royce may not be a supercar number, this car is certainly quick for its size.

A royal-themed interior can have its own custom-artwork dash. The cabin is covered in acres of wood, actual metal accents, and large swaths of velvety leather. The Phantom is available in both a conventional and a long-wheelbase variant, with the latter gaining 8.6 inches in length, which translates to more rear-seat legroom. The rear-hinged coach doors open gracefully and dramatically to allow for a stunning and show-stopping entry.

Aston Martin DB11

17,96,00,000 - 04,20,00,000 =13,76,00,000

A true supercar with amazing performance and an unmatched feel.

The DB11 marked the start of a new era for Aston Martin, bringing turbocharging, a completely redesigned chassis, and Mercedes-influenced interior design to an Aston Martin lineup that would soon grow to four full-production models.

The Aston Martin DB11 straddles the border between sports vehicle and grand tourer. Whether equipped with a fixed roof or a retractable soft top, its long, low, and wide body draws attention. This rear-drive-only Aston Martin comes with a massive 630-hp twin-turbo V-12, but it's only available in coupe form, comes at a hefty premium, and can overwhelm the back tyres.

Every DB11 has a comfortable interior that can be customised with imaginative colours and exotic materials. We've noticed minor inconsistencies in panel fitment and switchgear that feels fairly cheap. Nonetheless, these flaws pale in comparison to the generally lavish and adrenaline-pumping experience of driving this vehicle.

Swoop inside via the swan-hinged door (which lifts slightly to avoid kerbs) and you're met first by the fragrance of costly leather, rather than wow-factor tech or groundbreaking interior design. This isn't a negative thing at all. Leather upholstery, heated and power-adjustable front seats, and passive entry are standard on all models. The front seats are ventilated and the steering wheel is heated.

Ferrari SF90 Stradale

13,76,00,000 - 07,50,00,000 =06,26,00,000

A Ferrari in your 50 crore garage, because why not?

Transportation that is powered by electricity is the way of the future. The SF90 Stradale, a plug-in hybrid with stylish appearance, blazing performance, and a gas/electric drivetrain, it doesn’t get much better than this.

Since the 360 Modena, the SF90 is the first Ferrari with a mid- engine. The new hypercar from the brand comes equipped with all-wheel drive and can travel up to 16 miles on electric power alone. Three electric motors and a powerful V-8 combine to produce a mind-boggling 986 horsepower in the SF90 Stradale. Tremendous power translates to serious performance; Ferrari boasts this coupe can go from zero to 60 mph in 2.5 seconds.

The SF90's cabin is slightly lower-slung and carried further forward inside the wheelbase than Ferrari's more traditional mid-engined cars, but neither distinction is noticeable. On the way in, there isn't a particularly tall or wide sill to leap over, and there's plenty of room behind the wheel.

The yellow prancing-horse insignia on the centre of the steering wheel adds a dash of brightness to the inside of the SF90 Stradale. The dashboard of this two-seat coupe is sculpted with fluid lines that echo the flowing form of the car's body. Cargo room is usually in short supply in high- performance exotics. This is unmistakably true of the SF90 Stradale.

Lamborghini Aventador

06,26,00,000 - 06,25,00,000 =00,01,00,000

This Lamborghini will be your best friend on the track.

The Lamborghini Aventador is stunning in every way, with its wild-looking exterior and dramatic performance. It's also the last of a dying breed, with hybrid technology certain to improve future V-12 supercar models. Still, with neck-snapping acceleration and a lunatic exhaust noise, this wedge-shaped, scissor-doored Lambo blasts into the sunset.

The Aventador will accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 2.9 seconds. The Aventador's powertrain hierarchy starts with a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V-12 engine that produces 730 horsepower and is sent to the wheels via a seven-speed automated-manual transmission.

Driving the Lamborghini Aventador isn't very daunting. The interior's switches and buttons are reasonably well-organized, and the central touchscreen infotainment system and digital driver's display are comparable to those found in a high-end Audi.

Every Aventador is equipped with a set of scissor doors that open upward, as is customary for Lamborghini. In comparison to modern supercar rivals, the low-slung cabin is showing its age, but it can be customised with a range of luxury materials and customizable options.
