Air conditioning came from the United States thanks to this
electrical engineer who specialized in heating systems while
working for the Buffalo Forge company - a company that
manufactured heaters and various ventilation elements. The
first prototypes of this device, which relieved the hot flashes of
millions of people, were made in 1902.

Willis Carrier laid the foundation for the machine when he was
looking for a solution to the problems that moisture and heat
were causing for one of his customers, the owner of a Brooklyn
print shop. Now, we know it today as an air conditioner: a
device that draws in warm air from rooms and converts it into
cold air using refrigerants.
