43 year old woman commits suicide after family harasses her for being childless

Police reported on Sunday that a 43-year-old lady killed herself by hanging from a ceiling fan in her home after being bullied by a relative for not having children.

According to them, the event happened on Saturday at Sathwa in Talwara.

The married woman was distressed about her lack of a child, and one of her relatives used to tease her about it, which affected her mentally.

They claimed that the relative continued to make fun of her for this on Saturday.

The woman was discovered hanging from a ceiling fan at her residence many hours later.

The woman's senior brother-in-law Bakhshish Singh has been charged with abetment of suicide under Section 306 of the Indian Panel Code, and police are looking into the situation.
