8 people died as a fire breaks out at a Secunderabad electric bike showroom
A fire that broke out late on Monday in an electric showroom on the ground floor of a hotel in Secunderabad resulted in at least eight fatalities and thirteen injuries.
According to the police, smoke from the showroom moved to the first and second floors of the Hotel Ruby Pride and killed several people by suffocating them.
Around 9:30 p.m. last night, the fire started to spread among electric bikes in the basement. Eight persons have died, and several are in hospitals, told Chandana Deepti, DCP for Hyderabad's North Zone.
According to Deepti, a case has also been filed against the proprietors of the resort and the structure where the fire broke out.
As of the preliminary investigation, a short circuit is suspected to have caused the fire at the electric bike showroom, which led to a series of vehicle explosions.
.There were reportedly between 25 and 30 guests in the hotel at the time of the incident.
