Cheetahs To Arrive In India For PM Modi's Birthday

|The Den|

The Cheetah Reintroduction Project, which aims to increase the number of cheetahs in the nation, will formally launch on September 17, 2022, on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 72nd birthday.

The Namibian government contributed the first eight Cheetahs to start the Cheetah reintroduction program on July 20 of this year as a result of the Indian government's efforts, which began in the 1970s, to re-establish the species in its historical habitats in the nation.

Five female and three male cheetahs will head for India in a customized Boeing 747-400 jumbo aircraft from Namibia's capital Windhoek, traveling overnight and reaching Jaipur on the morning of Saturday, September 17. Then Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release these eight cheetahs into the Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh.
