Independence Day 2023; Centre invites around 1800 special guests

Around 1,800'special guests' will attend this year's major Independence Day event at the Red Fort in Delhi where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will raise the National Flag and deliver the traditional address to the nation as part of the government's "Jan Bhagidari" campaign to promote citizen engagement in governance.

The special guests invited to the Red Fort event include Sarpanches of vibrant villages, representatives from the Farmer Producer Organisations scheme, Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme and Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana beneficiaries, Shram Yogis (construction workers) of the Central Vista Project, Khadi workers, those engaged in border road construction, the creation of Amrit Sarovar and Har Ghar Jal Yojana as well as primary school teachers.
