Jammu and Kashmir hit by 5 earthquakes in one day

A day after a 5.4 magnitude earthquake struck the Doda district of the Union Territory, five earthquakes shook the Jammu region on Wednesday and sent locals into a state of terror.

The administration has closed educational institutions in the twin mountain districts of Doda and Kishtwar as a result of recent earthquakes.

Despite considerable property damage, according to officials, the Wednesday earthquakes in the Jammu region did not result in any fatalities as of yet. A day after strong tremors rattled the Doda area, five new earthquakes struck.

According to Bhaderwah's Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Dilmir Chowdhary, the District Magistrate ordered the closure of all schools in order to allay parent worries and ensure the safety of the children.
