The Madras High Court questioned Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) what they were doing since the 2015 floods as several parts of the city again water logged and causing severe problems to local peoples. “Half the year, we are longing for water, and for the rest of the year, we are dying in water in Chennai,” the court said. A bench led by Chief Justice Sanjib Banerjee and Justice P D Audikesavalu asked (GCC) about their proceedings to the Situation. The Bench criticised GCC for its failure and warned them to control the situation as soon as possible. The bench made the observations while hearing a public interest litigation.
