The Bermuda Triangle

The mystery of the Bermuda triangle, 'a patch of the sea', said to have caused the disappearance of countless ships and planes that have transited it, has fascinated scientists for years. The triangle is an area of the North Atlantic between Bermuda to the north, Puerto Rico to the south, and Florida to the west. An average of four planes and twenty ships are reported to disappear in the area each year without leaving any trace behind.

Theory; Atlantis This theory suggests that the lost city of Atlantis is somehow responsible for the shipwrecks and plane crashes in the Bermuda Triangle.

Rogue Waves Scientists now believe that the conditions of the Bermuda Triangle are just right for massive rogue waves due to storms moving in from all sides which possibly lead to shipwrecks and plane crashes.

Magnetic Forces

Many people have reported strange occurrences with their compasses in the triangle over the years. While it doesn't always happen, it can throw pilots and sailors significantly off course.

Methane Bubbles

If Methane gas gets released into the water, some experts believe it could sink ships and even cause planes to crash. And it could potentially happen rapidly, in just mere seconds, which wouldn’t allow those onboard time to radio for help or abandon ship. So according to this theory, the craters were caused by explosions of deep, underwater deposits of methane.

Waterspouts

Much like a tornado in the ocean, waterspouts can have wind speeds of up to 125 miles per hour. Because the Atlantic Ocean off Florida's coast is one of the most active areas in the world for this severe weather phenomenon, some have posited that it may be responsible for the Bermuda Triangle disasters.

Wormhole

A wormhole is essentially a space-time shortcut that could theoretically even allow time travel. Some people point to the wormhole explanation as one of the reasons why many ships are missing after the Bermuda Triangle crash.

Titanic - The Unsinkable

What really happened to the "unsinkable" Titanic? The steamship apparently hit an iceberg on April 14, 1912, as it sailed to New York - but did it?

Theory; The Titanic never Sank

The craziest yet most believable theory behind the Titanic is that it never actually sank. Conspiracy theorist Robin Gardiner suspects the Titanic didn't sink. Instead, her sister ship, the RMS Olympic, was disguised as the Titanic by her owners in an insurance scam.

Shakespeare was someone else

'Be not afraid of greatness. Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and others have greatness thrust upon them', quoth William Shakespeare - or did he? Some people question whether he wrote the works that bear his name or whether he even existed at all. They speculate that Shakespeare was a pseudonym for another writer or a group of writers.

Theory; Sir Francis Bacon was the Shakespeare

There are lots of small and large similarities between Bacon’s published works and Shakespeare’s plays. He was well educated, head of a literary society, and traveled often – all subjects that are in Shakespeare plays. He knew the science of ciphers, and experts believe they deciphered clues in the works and elsewhere that point to Bacon as the true author.

Edward De Vere, 17th Earl of Oxford was the Shakespeare

Oxford was known to others for its beautiful poetry. He traveled often, encountered pirates, and had wild adventures, many of which are described in the works of Shakespeare. Moreover, all of the royals and elite audiences invited to see Shakespeare's plays were all close friends of the Earl.

Christopher Marlowe was the Shakespeare

The Marlowe theory is very popular but not as widely accepted as the others as he was Shakespeare's greatest rival. However, the theory suggests that the style and even frequency of certain words and phrases are mirrored in the works of Shakespeare and Marlowe. Also, he died right when Shakespeare’s works began to gain traction where Marlovians argue that he faked his death and went on to be the greatest writer of all time – in secret.

The Group theory

This is the multiple writer theory. There is strong evidence that Shakespeare collaborated with others to write some of his greatest works, but there are also group theories that believe Shakespeare never wrote alone. Was it a group of writers including Marlowe, Bacon, or even some prominent women, but not Shakespeare himself? Could it be true that the greatest writer in the English language was as fictional as his plays? Maybe yes or maybe not!

The Bigfoot

In parts of the Pacific Northwest and Northern California, it is believed that there lives an ape-like man larger than humans. Many know him as Sasquatch and some as Bigfoot, but is he or could he be real?

Theory;

The Sasquatch or bigfoot footprints were first purported to be found in 1811 by the British explorer David Thompson. Since then various people have claimed to have found such footprints or seen Sasquatch, and some have presented alleged documentary evidence. However, academics and scientific researchers have pointed out that no investigator has presented a physical body or other verifiable evidence, and hence, they do not acknowledge the existence of Sasquatch.

Mysterious Area 51

Nobody knows much about the top-secret US military base called 'Area 51', which has led to a lot of speculation. This dry lake bed in the Nevada Desert, 85 miles (135km) north of Las Vegas, remained unacknowledged and disavowed by the US government for around 60 years. What happens there is extremely secret that the general public is kept away by warning signs, electronic surveillance, and armed guards and it is also illegal to fly over it which has created lots of conspiracies.

Theory; Area 51 and Aliens

Conspiracy theorists believe that the remains of crashed UFOs have been stored at Area 51. Fodder for this has come from a variety of supposed UFO sightings in the area and testimony from a retired Army colonel, Bob Lazar, who says he was given access to extraterrestrial materials gathered from an alien spacecraft that crashed in Roswell, N.M.

Time travel and teleportation technology

Some believe that the government studies time travel at Area 51. The idea is that deep in the Nevada desert there are hangers full of blueprints and prototypes that America is working on to stay ahead.

Weather Control

One theory surrounding area 51 is that scientists are using it and mostly deserted surroundings in their attempts to manipulate weather patterns.

Loch Ness Monster

The Loch Ness Monster or Nessie is a mysterious aquatic beast that is said to live in a loch in Scotland. Here, Loch is the Scottish Gaelic, Scots, and Irish word for a lake. This is Scotland’s one of the most famous unsolved mysteries. So is there any proof of its existence or is it nothing more than a soaking wet story? Well, let’s see!

Theory;

There have been thousands of reported sightings of a creature in the loch over the years, but people are still divided as to whether these sightings are authentic or fabricated. Though experts have a few solid theories to explain it - it could be floating objects like tree trunks, animals like ducks, or optical illusions caused by wind and waves. However, the 2019 DNA test on the lake suggests that there may be evidence that a monster may have existed in Lochness.

Illuminati

There is one simple answer to everything - the Illuminati. But do they still exist? The Illuminati are the supposed overlords controlling the world's affairs, operating secretly as they seek to establish a New World Order.

Theory; The Illuminati are plotting world domination

Are the Illuminati planning to rule the world? The secret society reportedly includes celebrities Jay-Z and Beyonce, US President Joe Biden, and Britain's Queen Elizabeth. They deny being part of it but there is no point in denying involvement because that is what the Illuminati would do. The group existed in the late 17th century, so who says the Illuminati hasn't been revived?

Mermaids

Are mermaids real? Supposedly, a mermaid is an aquatic creature with the head and upper body of a female human and the tail of a fish. But do they look like our assumption of red- haired beauty? that Disney introduced to the world in 1989 or are they a little less glamorous.

Theory;

Mermaids appear in the folklore of many cultures worldwide, including in Europe, Asia, and Africa. Although, mermaids do not exist. Still, they have fascinated people for thousands of years. Yes, over the years, many people have claimed seeing mermaids. However, some scientists think they might have an answer for it - Mermaids have also often been connected to Sirenia, which includes dugongs and manatees. Some experts say that mermaid sightings might actually be misunderstood run-ins with these animals.

Princess Diana’s Death

Within hours of Princess Diana's death on August 31, 1997, in a Paris motorway tunnel, conspiracy theories began to surface. This was particularly true of Princess Diana: Royalty died of old age, political intrigue, or overeating; You won't get killed by an ordinary drunk driver.

Theory; An assassination by British intelligence agencies at the request of the Royal Family

Dodi Fayed, Diana's boyfriend and son of an Egyptian billionaire was also a victim of the car accident. Rumors were circulating, mostly from Fayed's father, Mohamed Al-Fayed, that Diana was pregnant with Fayed's baby and that the couple was planning to get engaged soon. Some have claimed that the royal family does not want the mother of an heir to the throne, Prince William, to marry a Muslim.
